Perhaps the most recognized of all African textiles is the 'mud cloth' from Mali and Burkina Faso.
When creating these textiles, mud is used as the pigmentation agent, the usual colors being black or dark brown. The white, or negative spaces, are the areas not covered with the mud. The resulting designs are phenomenal!
Much of our mud cloth selection has been fashioned into cushion covers; however we have a large inventory of mud cloth panels ranging from '2ft x 2ft' to bedspread-size. We have a large stock in the gallery which are not available online, so please call to inquire!
