In addition to the Mambilla, and Mfunte, this was also used as a form of currency amongst the Kwadja people, and other small groups in the area.
This large sculptural forged iron currency with brush-made lines, or scratches, was shaped like a stretched hide, or some say a hoe, and was used as a means of payment across northeastern Nigeria and northern Cameroon.
It was used to purchase animals and land as well as for brideprice in marriage contracts (the compensation of a family for the loss of a daughter to marriage).
We have also seen these called Chu'npo.
