The Tuareg are a nomadic
people that ride their camels
throughout the south Sahara
regions of the desert.
They are
known for their extraordinary
silver & leather work which
feaure fine detail work and
craftsmanship. The leather is
obtained primarily from goats
and camels and is crafted by the
women. It was made to be used to carry
documents & kohl sticks for their
eye make-up as well as other
valuables. The leather is
embellished with various
geometric motifs which are
tooled, woven and cut-out.
