The young men of the nomadic Wodaabe people wear these embroidered tunics during the yearly Geerewol festival. Part of the festival involvers a dance called the Yaake, in which the men display their beauty, charisma, and Togu, or charm. The tunics are made for the men by their girlfriends and take about a year to complete.
