Cobalt Blue Annular Wound Beads - Dogon People, Mali

$110.00
Sometimes called Dutch Donut beads, and are associated with the Dogon people, as they were used as currency to trade with them. They are probably not Dutch in origin, but Dutch traders used them. Each old glass bead has been shaped into rings.
These treasured antique heirloom beads were often used by the Dogon people as dowry currency, and were passed down through generations of Dogon women for hundreds of years.

Not strung to be worn as is, but the beads will add a touch of authenticity to your creation.

The strand length though is 38".
