Long considered the most formidable blacksmiths in the area because of their intricate weaponry, the influence of the Ngombe spread to many of their neighbors such as the Doko, Poto and Mongo peoples.. They also created weaponry for ceremony rather than warfare. One of the their main functions was to convey the status of its holder, which would have only been a person of righ-rank. The sword reflected its owner’s prestige in the community.
This piece is priced as is, as there is a crack in the handle.
