This 'Tabzimt', or pectoral pendant, is from the Kabyle People in Northern Algeria, a sub-group of the Berber. The jewelry that the Kabyle women received from
their relatives on their wedding day was part of the dowry. The
men gave the "Tabzimt" to their wives after the birth of their
first son. This Tabzimt has beautifully intricate patters, colorful enamel
and coral beads all set in silver.
