"Kakudji" Statuette - Luba People, SE D.R. Congo

These statuettes are kept in the diviner's basket, and was used during divination rituals.

The figure would have been used in divination and was related to a powerful association known as Bugabo, popular during early colonial times which specialized in healing, hunting, and fighting crime.

Height: 4 ⅞" x Diameter: 5 ⅛" - it is mounted on a 2" square metal base.
