These hourglass shaped drums provide accompaniment to songs sung at various ceremonies such as sing-sings, the inauguration of a new canoe and other important events. Each is beautifully carved with various clan symbols. The drum's sound is closely associated with the supernatural as it represents the voices of spirits and ancestors.
