Hand woven from the hair of a Yak. The rope is double plaited but is light in weight. Ropes are essential items for travel and trade and are precious to people in remote areas who save any scraps of yak hair to plait into ropes.
Tibetan herders call the yak "Noor", which means wealth or treasure, so invaluable is the animal to them.
