Lovely metal inlay.
In the Iringa region of South Central Tanzania live the Kami, Zaramo, Gogo and Hehe people, who all use similar style stools.
Notorious for their skillfully carved three - legged stools, from a single piece of hardwood,( possibly Msekeseke wood), the stools are surprisingly comfortable. They were used during ceremonies by persons of high status.
The wear and tear on this stool gives it added character.
Height: 13 1/2" x approximately 9 1/2" diameter.
