This bowl is made from a papier-mâché of recycled office paper and covered with reused sardine tin wrappers. Pilchards, or Sardines are an oily fish, are an excellent source of protein and Omega 3 and are quite cheap to buy, either fresh or tinned. The fish are usually caught in the cold currents off the west coast of southern Africa.
The Fair Trade organisation behind this project is committed to people living with HIV and Aids. Everything produced is fairtrade and ethical, and much of it uses recycled material.
