Multi Colored. Mudcloth is made up of narrow handspun raw cotton. The looms that they use only weave a strip about 5" wide. These strips are then woven together to create large panels like this. It is called mud cloth as it is "painted" with mud. Colors are created by mixing different organic materials to the mud such as leaves, roots, and tree bark. The white is the natural color of the yarn, and is 'painted" around. Each piece is a hand painted work of art.
