Stone birds were discovered many years ago at the Zimbabwe Ruins.
This sculpture is an abstract depiction of a Bateleur eagle which is the National emblem of Zimbabwe. The bird has great significance amongst the Shona, as they believe that it is the link between them and their ancestors being a creature of flight connecting heaven and earth.
It is a large sculpture, and would work well outdoors too.
