Boars tusks are an important type of traditional wealth and currency in Papua New Guinea & the rest of Melanesia. Pectoral necklaces like this were worn as a status symbol, and showed wealth. In addition to the boar tusks, there is amongst other things, an old fossil and cowrie shells.
Height: 20" (top to bottom) - the pendant part itself is 7 ¾" in height x 6 ⅜" in width.
