Beaded decorations are worn as ornaments by both Maasai men and women. Among the wide variety of beaded ornaments worn by moran, or warriors, is a narrow belt that serves to carry the scabbard of the same short sword or dagger.The belt is embellished at the back with a pattern sewn on a leather form.
