Worn by a Yoruba diviner in Nigeria over his front and back, the intricately
beaded necklace contains ‘medicines’ for protection
and power while communicating between the world
of the living and the ancestral realm. The face of ‘Eshu’,
the messenger spirit to the ancestors is featured
prominently. The blue & white colors symbolize ‘Orunmila,’
the god of wisdom, who is associated with divination.
