The tuareg are a nomadic people that ride their camels throughout the south Sahara regions of the desert. They are known for their extraordinary silver & leather work which feaure fine detail work and craftsmanship. The leather is obtained primarily from goats and camels and is crafted by the women. They are used to carry documents & kohl sticks for their eye make-up as well as other valuables. The leather is embellished with various geometric motifs which are tooled, woven and cut-out.
