Kenya's soapstone is found in the highlands of the Kisii district Western Kenya. The artisans produce each piece of art without the assistance of any mechanical device. Excavation of the raw quarry stone, carving, polishing, painting and etching are all done manually.

This jar features geometric patterns and an elephant motif lid. It measures 2.75" tall and 2" in diameter.
