Kenya's soapstone is found in the highlands of the Kisii district in western Kenya. The artisans produce each piece of art without the assistance of any mechanical device. Excavation of the raw quarry stone, carving, polishing, painting, and etching are all done by manually. Each work of art is individual and a reflection of the artists' creativity and ingenuity.

This bowl sits on three short legs and features an elephant motif. It measures 9" in diameter and 3" high.
