Sisal Basket-Rwanda
Price: $68.00

The weaving of fine baskets has a long history in Rwanda and is an art form which is passed down from mother to daughter. The artists who make these baskets are all victims of the 1994 genocide, most of them widowed. Money from the sale of these baskets goes to support the families and villages of the weavers and gives them an active role in the shaping of their nation's future. These baskets are woven from sisal fiber and measure 9" tall by 5" wide.
