Abstract

There is a thin line for what is incorrectly termed primitive art, and modern art, as is evidenced in the modern looking abstract sculptures of the Shona, who have had no formal art training. The modern artists were after all influenced by the traditional shapes and forms of the traditional African art, and the movement has now come full circle.
