In Shona folklore, the owl (zizi) is seen as a messenger of truth, as well as a symbol of clear and penetrating vision. When seen near the village at night, the owl is warning the inhabitants that evil spirits are afoot. The villagers can then take the necessary steps to ward off these spirits.

"Zizi" sublimely conveys the penetrating insight and magical powers of this legendary animal. It is sculpted from serpentine and measures 24.5" tall, 12" wide, and 9" deep.
