The young women of northern Cameroon use dolls to ensure fertility, prevent morning sickness, and provide for easy childbirth. they can be carried on the person, kept within the home or in a shrine. The dolls are carefully carved in hardwood and feature exaggerated angles in the arms & legs. Decoration includes beads, fiber,shells, leather and metal.
