Goldweight (X) - Akan Speaking Peoples - Ghana

Price: $100.00

Ghanaians have been trading with gold since the 15th century. The gold was weighed on simple scales, against weights of standard value. Most goldweights were cast in bronze using the lost wax method. They featured geometric designs and often took the form of humans and animals.

This goldweight measures 5/16" high, 5/15" wide, and 9/16" thick.
