This large food bowl is from the Huon Gulf region of Papua New Guinea. It measures 29.5" long, 6" high, and 14" wide. It was collected in the 1960s. It has relief carvings as well as subtle, intricately incised designs on the outer surface. The piece has a beautiful, partially encrusted patina.
