This charming giraffe is cast in bronze using the lost wax method. In this process, the piece is sculpted in wax, usually around a clay core. A plaster mold is then put around the piece. It is then heated, melting the wax and leaving a cavity into which the bronze is poured. The mold is destroyed in the process, resulting in each piece being a one of a kind item.
