Johathan was born on Christmas day 1974 in Mvurwi. In 1989 he spent six months in Tenegenenge, where he learned the basics of sculpting under Square Chikwanda. He then moved to Harare and worked under the tutelage of the late Joseph Ndandarika, whose influence can still be detected in Jonathan's work. In 1991, Jonatnan moved to Hatfield and began to work on his own. In 1997, he joined Chapungu Sculpture Park and is established as one of the major young talents of Shona stone sculpture.

"Balancing Act" measures 26"H x 8.5"W x 8.5"D and is sculpted of springstone.
