Like many areas in Africa, a particular seat often designates a special place for a highly regarded individual. This chair was used by tribal elders when they met for community meetings. Fashioned from a piece of beautifully carved interlocked wood. The wood itself shows signs of wear and sports a deep, glossy patina from years of handling.
