lovingcouple.jpg

Price: $0.00

Jonathan Mhondorohuma is considered a major young talent among Shona stone sculptors. He was born in 1974 in Mvurwi and began learning to sculpt under his uncle Square Chikwanda. He later moved to Harare, where he worked under the late Joseph Ndandarika. After the latter's death in 1991, Jonathan began working on his own and joined the Chapungu Sculpture Park in 1997. He works in classic Zimbabwean style and his subject matter often explores the relations between man and woman in all their aspects. "Loving Couple" is a tender depiction of simple love. It is sculpted from springstone and measures 19" tall by 9" wide.
