Ethiopian hides, from buffalo or hippopotamus, are formed over a wooden mold to create this type of shield. They vary in detail of ridges and outer rim. This old shield is conical shaped, 19 inches in diameter. These shields are getting increasingly hard to find, and keep costing more too!
